Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving came and went, and give thanks we did. I had a small dinner with my mother in law, brother in law and his fiancée. Above is her cheesecake. She somehow was able to locate cranberries. I tried three different supermarkets with no luck, so couldn't make any cranberry sauce. But I made turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes and a green salad, and an apple pie to give good company to this beautiful cheesecake. Of course the pie had to be served with vanilla ice-cream. I looked for american recipes for everything, to try to be as authentic as possible.

I think the dinner was a success: we ate, drank (Italian wine, of course) and were happy together and little girl had a lot of fun with her grandma, aunt and uncle. She really likes to be in a crowd, the more the better.
Sister in law and I already started making plans for next year: she promised to make corn bread and to locate some pecans for me, to make a pecan pie.
I am happy I started this Thanksgiving tradition, since I have so many beautiful memories of my Thanksgiving in the States. Besides, it's always great to remember all things we have to be grateful for.
Unfortunately the Black Friday is still and American thing, so no sales for me on Friday. But we had so many leftovers to keep feasting on!
