Weekend readings.

Image
Hi there! How was your week? Here's another list of useful, informative, interesting links. Enjoy! I don't do this anymore, but it took me years to learn. Have you ever purchased items for your imaginary lifestyle ? Can you walk in high heels ? What we can learn from runaway and red carpet fashion. And one girl's reasons to love fashion . Something I firmly believe in: skin food . I am sure if everytime I go to a new beauty center the girl tells me I don't look my age, it's because I was taught from a young age to eat plenty of fruits and veggies. How long we wait between haircuts depends on... the haircut! Tips to detox your makeup bag . This really resonated with me: sometimes we should just let ourselves to be happy. And just... don't invite them to the party !

Travel plans

Image
Just yesterday I was thinking how much I have travelled in 2011 (well, for my standards anyway). It went like this: April - Nuremberg, Germany August - Venice, Italy September - Turin, Italy October - Barcelona, Spain October - Frankfurt, Germany (this was for a work event though) November - Paris, France And I can't help feeling all happy and giggly when thinking about what's coming up this year. It looks like we are going to explore (or re-explore) Italy quite a bit: January - Florence March - Siena and the Val D'Orcia April/May - Todi June/July - US And I am sure more travel plans will come up. I find going for a long weekend rather than for a whole week or two weeks vacation is more relaxing, and gives something to look forward to in the winter months when I am stuck at work. A note on my trips. Since I don't have a disposable income, and we are planning our wedding and have decided to pay everything by ourselves, the Italy trips are bought on Grou

Travel pictures: Florence!

These are some overdue pictures of my short trip to Florence. We went there by train from Rome and by 11 am we were there. It was really cold, but the sky was blue and the air crisp. So we wore good jackets and hats, and went to explore the city. We had both been there already, but Florence never disappoints, even if it is the millionth time one visits. It's a very elegant city, beauty is to be found at every corner, and people are really kind and polite - not to mention the food! Here are the pictures... This is the cloister of the San Lorenzo church. I love cloisters - they give such a paceful feeling, they seem to me the perfect place to read or meditate - or simply relax. What you see when you enter the square where both the Duomo and the Battistero are located. Isn't it breathtaking?). Inside the Battistero ... A view of Ponte Vecchio . All the stores which line the bridge are jewellery stores. So sparkly! Had to take a picture of the food! The vi

Weekend readings!

Image
Image Source Happy Saturday, everybody! This is going to be a loooong list of links (I have collected them over a couple of month). So, grab your coffee and start reading! Don't know why, but my eyes become all teary when I read this . Probably, because I have experienced all of that so often! Dressing for your date with Destiny - a bunch of useful suggestions! What to wear when you don't know what to wear . Ten never ending trends of Parisian shoppers . This we shouldn't need - but I find it so true and useful: vacation recovery! If you haven't read it yet - 10 things Lady Gaga taught me about personal style . Some winter beauty tips ! And some thoughts about French women's beauty. I love to have people over - but cannot even think of having more than 4-6 guests. May be this guide to the perfect party will make me change my ways... Just read this . A great collection of quotes!

Travel pictures: Paris.

I was in Paris at the end of November. It was really cold compared to where I live, but so worth it. Paris has a very decadent and romantic feeling during the grey days of fall. not to mention, one appreciates red wine better when it's cold! The surprise was we could see the first Christmas decorations and the Nativity in Notre Dame! We took plenty of pictures, and here's my selection: Definitely, Paris never disappoints me. It was my third time there, and I still want to go back...

Travel Pictures: Barcelona.

I am still nursing an endless flu, and I am supposed to leave on Sunday for Florence! In honor to this (and a couple other, including my honeymoon) upcoming trip, I am going to publish some pictures from my most recent trips. I am starting with Barcelona. Went there in October, it was my first time in Spain. The weather was awesome, the company was great and the food too! I had a great time. Now, on to the pictures! Talking about food... And beautiful weather... And beautiful architecture! The market display was really inviting... And I learned so much about the amazing Gaudi's architecture (this is only an example) I would love to visit Barcelona again, only for a few more days.
